This is the slowest service we have had. Also not impressed with the customer service. Not eager to assist. I am looking at other plans at this time. I live in the 64077 area.

Copper.net is the best service I have had in years. I really like the Pop Up Service. No annoying adds or disconnection in the middle of reading an important email or visiting a web page. I would definitely recommend Copper.net to my friends. Excellent Hot Performance!

A few days after signing up and asking for extra storage for my new email acct, all my email just disappeared. I called tech support about it, but noone has contacted me as to what happened. I am still very scared that I have made a very bad mistake in selecting COPPER. Your company has now made two mistakes and not dealing with either.

What is ordinarily a great ISP has one big thing that you really have to question. If you need to download a large file at night when everybody is sleeping forget about it. If it goes for over four hours you will get booted off automatically. Why? Is there a big usuage at 12-8 am? I had the dial-up setup to automatically disconnect after the download was done. It would disconnect when it sensed an idle connection after three minutes and no response from me. It wasn't my computer, it happens to everyone at Copper. We have a forum and this has been brought up before by others. Do they need to be a guardian angel making sure you didn't forget to disconnect? They have a 200 hour limit per month so shouldn't I be the one on how that time is used? I don't have a problem with that as it is about 6.5 hours per day. That is a lot of time for anyone. I guess that is why they made download manager for companies such as Copper. In that you can resume after they disconnect you. Otherwise this is a great little ISP. I always seem to be able to connect and the connect speed is very good most of the time. Once in a while it has to redial to get a connection and I have gotten booted off early but that is rare. I have no call waiting so that isn't the problem. A good thing they did (after some complaints) was an option to disable the comments section of the forum section. Although I have an email account I rarely use it, as I have another one I use for most stuff. I have been with them for about two years. I really don't need to use customer support as you are using Microsoft's Dial-up networking files to connect. They use no software as it only slows your computer down and hogs resources. The only thing that is required is a user name and password and you're on.

I find the personnel at Copper very patient and friendly. The Speed and Performance, I am taking to mean when I boot up, but this is due to my not having the high speed, which for some unknown reason one of my computer's anti-virus will not allow it! However, if it mean speed with which one is taken care of, once one calls then it is a five star. J

The home page for copper lists two paces to check e-mail. When I ifirst signed all I had to do was click one of the options. After a few months whenever I clicke on either I got a box indicating that I had to reinsert my address and password despit the fact that I had indicated that they both should be saved for future use. After a few weeks of this tedium the point arose that even when I entered the information I got a notice saying that either my address or password or both were invalid. I requested that the support section of copper fix the problem. I got a condesending message from Jason, a tier 2 support tech, that it was my fault since he considered that I had not accessed the bandwidth often enough during the time I was using the e-mail and that it had timed me out of the system. He said that I should use Outlook or some other intermediate method to avoid being timed out. I sent him a message indicating that I had not been able to access the e-mail from the copper home page and that I had not had the opportunity to access any band width. A coworker of his sent me a tart reply indicating that the solution to the problem was as Jason had suggested. Obviously I wanted my mail so I went though Outlook. When I did I got pop ups indicating that there were problems with my password/ e-mail conncections with copper. I could click the pop ups out and get to my copper e-mail. I considered this a tedious unnecessary chore that I should not have to go through since copper indicated when I signed on that I would direct e-mail access. I e-mailed Jason a copy of the pop up that I got from Outlook and indicated that I would be looking for another ISP. He sent me back another terse e-mail indicating that I could not close my -email account via e-mail and quoted, using loud capital letters, the contract information which indicated I had to call in to cancel copper. He also indicated that I should have a great day. I e-mailed back and indicated that he was an ass and that if I owned copper he would be down the road for his poor service and condesending attitude. Why not simply fix the problem? Obvioulsy the business model of copper is one that the little customer be damned and that if they loose one it doesn't matter. It appears that the company has modled itself after AOL. Anyway, I will be bidding farewell to copper shortly.
