up any number of PCs to the router (or to a switch connected to the router), and configure the PCs to use that router as their "gateway" to the internet. With this setup, things work pretty much like they do on a normal LAN (with internet access), except that the "gateway" to the internet (the router with the external modem) is much slower than you would get from a broadband connection.
