had the serial port (on the router, connected to the modem) set at 115k (the fastest the modem would handle) then when it was set at 56k (what the router was using by default). While I hope to eventually get my dad on broadband, I've already improved things for him with this small LAN (behind a dial-up modem). Now, there is no longer any need for my dad and his wife
